Saturday, June 13 – 11 a.m. – NEW DOMINION BOOKSHOP hosts the launch for historian Rick Britton’s new book Virginia Vignettes (Vol. I): Famous Characters & Events in Central Virginia History. The first in a series, Virginia Vignettes features express rider Jack Jouett, First Lady Dolley Madison, young Edgar Allan Poe at U.Va., the founding of local Black Baptist Churches, thrill-seeker B. F. Ficklin, the 1895 U.Va. Rotunda fire, the local Civilian Conservation Corps, and Medal of Honor winner Frank Dabney Peregoy!
