Enjoy a Sunset Pass to Monticello

Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays thru September – 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. – MONTICELLO offers its wonderful Sunset Pass! Enjoy the beauty and tranquility of Monticello at the end of the day with this exclusive pass that allows you to delight in the vistas from Jefferson’s “little mountain” after the regular closing time. Arrive in the afternoon, and take part in guided tours of Monticello’s gardens and Mulberry Row. And then browse the exhibition galleries and Museum Shop on your own before your guided house tour which includes newly restored upstairs rooms and the third-floor Dome Room. After the tour, enjoy spectacular views of the late afternoon sun from the mountaintop; you can choose to roam the grounds or engage in conversation with knowledgeable guides who will continue to offer insight into Jefferson’s world.

Available through September, the Sunset Pass includes: free parking; a multi-floor guided house tour; a guided “Slavery at Monticello” tour; a guided “Gardens and Grounds” tour; and complete access to the Visitor Center including its 15-minute “Thomas Jefferson’s World” film, the Museum Shop, and the café.

Charge is $55. Access to gardens & grounds until 8:00 p.m. First house tour begins at 5:30. For complete information about Monticello tours and special events, visit www.monticello.org, call (434) 984-9816, or e-mail to info@monticello.org.
