10th Annual Heritage Harvest Festival at Monticello

Saturday, Sept. 10 – MONTICELLO presents its 10th Annual Heritage Harvest Festival celebrating Thomas Jefferson, America’s “first foodie!” Fascinated with the foods eaten by various cultures, Jefferson championed vegetable cuisine, plant experimentation, and sustainable agriculture. He also enjoyed macaroni and loved serving ice cream! At this year’s unique, family-friendly Festival—held on the grounds of Jefferson’s beautiful Monticello—taste a bounty of heirloom fruits and vegetables, and learn about organic gardening and seed-saving. The 2016 keynote speaker will be Patrick O’Connell, proprietor and chef of The Inn at Little Washington.

Tickets can be purchased at the gate during the festival through 4 p.m. For more information, visit
